What’s the technical data mean?
For those who are not familiar with artificial grass technology, they maybe a little confused when get a paper of product data sheet. There are so many numbers and professional glossaries. If you are not an original English speaker, you may never meet some of the words before. So, what does those technical data mean?
Basic technical data:
Pile height: the height of the each artificial grass yarn from the root to the top, not including the stitch through the backing, mostly is from 6mm to 80mm. Different pile height match different applications. For example, if using artificial grass for football pitches, we often suggest choosing the models pile height from 35mm-65mm. But if for tennis court, 8mm-15mm is the best. And for residential garden lawns, it depends on your feelings. Theoretically speaking, all kind of synthetic turf could be used to decorate gardens. Certainly people often choose the product that more close to natural grass.

Dtex: a manufacturing term relating to yarn measurement; an abbreviation of Decitex, it is the unit of the linear density of continuous yarn – equal to 0.90 of a denier or 0.10 of a tex. For same artificial grass yarn fibers, if the Dtex is higher, the yarn fiber is thicker.
Stitch gauge: the horizontal distance between the vertical lines, Usually measurement by inch.
Stitch rate per 10 cm: the number of stitches in any 10cm.
Primary backing: a part that is produced with the ideal absorption rate to lock fibers in place.
Secondary backing: locks the fibers into the primary backing.
